Will not start
I have recently bought a 2005 Grizzly 660. It is not currently running. When I first got it cranked a while, then fired and ran fine for a few minutes. After a quick pull, it stalled and hasn't ran since. It has sat a few months and had an aftermarket carb that it last ran with. After it stalled, we kept cranking it and eventually gas started coming out of the overflow. It would sputter every now and then. We checked spark and it seemed fine. One thing to note, when I took the boot off and set it to the side to remove the spark plug the boot separated from the wire. I reattached it then tested for spark. I had a spare aftermarket carb so i installed it with factory settings. It sputtered once and just kept cranking. I disassembled the first carb to see little ethanol signs. The jets are clear and the float valve is clean. I decided to check the valves and discovered that they were too tight. I used feeler gauges to adjust them to spec. After that, the bike had more compression and the starter could not overcome it. So we decided to leave it for the night to let the battery recharge (was at 73% when we started charging. The air filter is clean. Tomorrow I am going to buy a new sparkplug and grab some starting fluid to try to persuade it. Do yall have any ideas about what else could be wrong?
