Old bear tracker vacuum line help
#21
Thank yall for all the help I could not do this without it. I haven't been able to get a compression gauge all the auto stores don't have one that fits. But if you put your thumb over the hole it definitely has force blowing out and drawing it. Hope this helps. David

If it has any compression you have probably "got away with it" not bending a valve. Buy the workshop manual and set the cam timing up with that. It will tell you how to check for a stretched chain, and a broken/seized adjuster. Make sure the chain guides are in good condition and fitted properly.

Bigger problem. Was getting ready to start to work on replacing the timing chain. And i found that the camshaft sprocket is wobbly. So wobbly that I can't get the sprocket off. How do I get this thing out or what should I do? Thank yall. David

Drawing shows a single bolt holding sprocket to cam, remove bolt and washer, pull sprocket from cam. If it is stuck on, use some sort of puller on it, being careful not to damage end of cam.
