1. I'm considering a 5x10 tilt bed trailer that has a steel deck. The deck has the raised hash marks so it it's not smooth and will have some traction, but I'm still concerned I won't be able to get the ATV up on it when it's wet. I've looked at the ramp types which I know will work, but if I can do it this way I get a bigger trailer for about $200 less.Any experiences?

2. I'm putting a K&N air filter in my kodiak. It says to put on air filter oil to seal it. Now I've seen air filter oil on RMatv for about $3 and I see K&N sealing grease for about $11. Can I get by with the air filter oil? Also, is the K&N worth the money?

1) If you find you have trouble with slippage of the tires on the trailer... get a can of epoxy paint. You can add the traction agents and make it a non-skid surface, and have a nice color.

2) It depends on how exact you want to get on seals. I use the filter oil on the seal of mine. It turns into a tacky seal. The seal is somewhat tight anyway. I know some who don't even use a seal, wouldn't recommend it. Some protection is better than none.

1) That stuff you're talking about is called floor plate. And yes, it will definitely slip.

2) K&N is always worth it. I have yet to put it on my quad, but have always used it in my vehicles. And like all other manufacture products, you can always find another oil that will do the trick.

You probably already know this but make sure to ONLY use K&N oil for the K&N filter; don't use a foam filter oil on your K&N filter. Filter oils designed for foam filters are much stickier and "stringy" than K&N oil. I don't know about the seal part on your machine. If it's a foam seal then grease works well, the stickier the better.
