Very confused need help sum it up bought used Kodiak 450/03, or so I thought , needs front end work rip it down ,order new parts ,not one fits ,ok Mayne wrong vin shady but happens , put vin in decoder comes back as 03 yfz 450 that's fine but this is the part ,this fu#@#$ ng thing has a 4x4 shifter a wench and looks nothing like the yfz ??? I own a 2001 wolverine and a 97 yz 250 not that good with the wrench got alot of patient buddy's that like to get away from wife's ,so maybe I just don't know enough but from ready couple threads I don think this is common ? Any input would be huge sorry for the. Novel !

What is the vin number? Not even sure how a kodiak set up would fit on a yfz frame.

It really doesn't resemble a racer it's a beefy Kodiak wolverine ,big bear sort of machine that is what ibtoughti was buying not really interested in racers , but I boughvtie rids ball joint s A arms and all of them were not compatible with the ones I removed and machine obviously

 

My vin check shows it as a 2003 YFM 400. Big Bear, not a Kodiak.

 

Vin decoders are not too good on ATVs. Obvious difference, back then, between Big Bears and Kodiaks was Big Bears were air cooled and Kodiaks were water cooled. There is also a white sticker on the frame, under the seat, our local Yam dealer always asks for info from that, when we require Yam parts.
