450 Grizzly tracking
#1
Just bought a Grizzly 2nd hand i think it's a 2016 model despite it being registered in Uk as 2017 as it has no headlight on the bars in the middle.
However i noticed with the bars dead center the bike steers to the left quite badly. How do i go about setting the tracking as one of the wheels visibly points left whilst the left wheel points out to the left even more!
Also i need some new panels, anyone recommend the cheapest place in UK for genuine Yamaha spares?
Thanks

There really isn't anywhere in the UK selling cheap genuine Yamaha parts. Someone is selling a closed dealer's stock on eBay, but the plastics all seem to be for obscure models and strange colours. Regarding tracking, you slacken the locknuts on the track rod ends, inner and outer, then turn the track rod outwards (longer) for the LH side and inwards for the right, the outer track rod end has a right hand thread, inner one LH thread. If you move each exactly the same amount, you won't alter toe in/out. Only way to know if this is the correct toe in/out is to get the spec from a manual, or friendly dealer, they may be more friendly if you are buying the plastics from them. After getting the wheels both pointing ahead with the bars set at 90 degrees, tighten the locknuts so that both track rod ends are free to turn at right angles to the rod, the maximum amount.

The steering column usually has a master spline so you can't fit the arm at the bottom on the wrong spline, however if you are a really determined butcher you may be able to force it on the wrong spline. If the frame or A arms are twisted you do have a problem. At least a 2016/7 machine is worth spending money on, with prices rising and the pound falling, a decent one will be fetching almost what it cost new,
