Yesterday I was riding my Blaster. When I was parking it it was slapping pretty bad. Did a compression check and it's at 85-90 psi.(BAD NEWS)Rod was fine. Took the jug to shop, will cost $120 for boring (most likely .20 over) weisco piston, rings, pin, clips and gaskets. Question is when I get it back together, what are some suggestions for break in? Thanks!

2 tanks of gas keep it under 1/2 throttle. you can set the limit screw on the throttle so u dont go over.

Two tanks of gas huh! That might take me quite some time, but if that's what I gotta do, I'll do it. Also should I maybe go a little stiffer on the pre-mix like 24 or 26:1 to make sure it has good lubrication?

TurfBlaster, 2Tanks of gas geez F-that! All you have to do is Start the thing up untill warm and shutt it off, let it cool do this 3 times and then take a couple of rides 10-20 minutes let cooll after each ride and then you should be fine. If the rings dont seat withing this time then there not going to. Trust me you'll be fine if you like to ride and ride hard then you know as well as I do that 2 tanks of gas well thats rediculous. I raced mx bikes for years and I've rebuilt bikes and raced them with nothing but starting and let cool and they are fine so for all the extensive break in precautions that some people do is basically a waste of time. The manufactures say this to cover them selves, if it were a 4stroke then break in takes a while and is more crutial. So warm it up let it cool a couple of times do the same with riding through all gears and then ride it how ever you want to!

alot of people have different ways of breaking in a bike. 2 tanks of gas. at the start of the sendond tank you can start opening it up dont dont keep it open for long periods of time. This board went down hill. everytime you post a comment you get slammed by the next guy. thsi board is good for the classifieds and thats about all
