What seems to be the problem with the rear brake pads on the kodiak? I now have 1000 miles on my 2001 kodiak and the rear brake pads are the origanal pads and they still look good!!! Hears what i think the problem is, i have caught myself resting my foot on the foot brake and not even realizing it, how many times have i done this and not even known? Maybe others guys are doing the same!! Not everyone is haveing the brake problem and i dont think it is a rpoblem with the kodiak or the brakes, i think it is the riders miss use or like i said earlier just resting your foot on the foot brake and not realizing it. Just my .2 cents!!!

First time I had brought my atv in for the rear brake pads they told me the same thing, that I may be resting my foot on it. That is NOT the case. I've had my quad since June last year and have replaced the rear pads 3 times already and it's time for a 4th.
Consider yourself lucky. Most of us Kodiak owners have problems with the rear pads.
