What axle should I get??
#1
I am considering getting a wider axle for my Raptor and was wondering which one I should get. I want to make the rear end pretty much the same width as the front, which one would be the best to get and how much wider is it really? Also, where do you guys suggest purchasing the axle, is there anywhere online to get it?

GET A LONESTAR! the durablue doesnt tit correctly, because its a banshee axel,i had a durablue and ended up buying a lonestar.i got mine from sunset atv for 329.00 but make shure to tell them you want a RAPTOR axel because they sent me a bansee axel the first time.

Lonestar Axcaliber. Should pay $318 -$329, look around on the web. Got mine at Golden West Cycle. Don't get the durablue. Besides, they SAY they have a lifetime warrenty, but it is only for the 1st axle - read for yourself on their website. (www.durablue.com/frwarranty.html)
Lonestar is UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME. period. looks superb as well. out.

I have a Durablue Raptor axle, it works great and it fits perfectly. I am not a PRO but I do take some pretty long and high jumps and tend to land uneven. So far no axle problems. As for the banshee axle on the Raptor, Durablue made it perfectly clear in the beggining that the Banshee axle did fit the Raptor but it was slightly longer on one side, but that problem disappeared when they came out with the Raptor specific axle.
I can't say anything bad or good about the Lonestar because I have never tried them.
I hear Durablue is cheaper that Lonestar.

madmike,i ordered my axle about a month ago,at that time durablue did not make a axel specificly for the raptor.i dont know if they do yet or not.everyone was selling banshee axles and saying they fit the raptor, they would go in the carrier ok but the axel shaft on the right side stuck out of the carrier almost 3/4" further than it did the left side.also the threads on a banhee axel for the two big nuts that hold it into the carrier are coarser than the raptors,so your stock nuts will not fit a banshee axle.all you have to do is lay your new axel on a bench next to your stock one(side by side) and line up the stop that contacs the sprocket holder and you can measure the diff.from the flange the hubs butt up against from axel to axel.

I just sent an email to Durablue to find out if and what the differences are. They replied that the axles for the banshee and the raptor are one in the same. But there is a 1/4" offset which they say is no big deal.
rnog did you get the adjustable eliminator axle ?
If so is it easy to adjust?

The adjustable DuraBlue is the X-33. It takes less than 10 minutes to slide the pin-driven hubs in and out, including taking off the wheels.
Of course you pay a little more than Eliminator axles. I paid $409 but it is well worth it. For trail ridings I shrink it to the narrowest width, which is still a little wider than stock. for dunes and track I extend it fully.
I've landed on one wheel several times have not had any problems with it.
