I'm new to the ATV sport and just bought my first ATV(1992 Yamaha Warrior for $1400). Obviously it is an older bike, but it is still in very good condition. I was hoping to get ideas of how to maintain it properly so it lasts me a long time? Besides greasing it, changing the plugs, filters, and oil,....what else can i do to make sure it continues to run & ride good??? Also, how do you know when your chain needs adjustment? I really appreciate the help!! thanks

Ill try and help you a little bit here. Lets see: You already know the basics( plugs, oil, etc.) but something i found out about and didnt really think that much about was the rear bearings. Check them and grease them pretty regularly especially if you get in a lotta water or sand. Also pay attention to stuff like brake pads. you dont really notice them goin in the back till all of a sudden you hit the brake and get a nasty SCREECH sound of metal on metal. Thats a few more of the basics but thats without going into the motor and tranny. Hope i helped a little
