Can anybody explain to me what a different timing key does for the Blaster. How does the key work, or how is it used. I have had that side of my engine apart once, and saw a big disc, bowl looking wheel and a pickup or something almost touching it. I know it was for timing and ignition but how does a new key come in to play! I am more used to the old plate and points ignition. Thanks!

the timing key replaces the stock flywheel key on the flywheel(big disk). to put it in you need a flywheel puller. these keys do work. I had one but I didn't tighten the flywheel nut hard enough and the key sheared off. waste of $25.

The key will change the time that the spark plug sparks, thus changing the time that the engine fires. You can either advance or retard your engines timing depending on the type of riding you want to do.
