Grizzly starting problems
#1
My friend recently purchased a 1999 grizzly. It works fine most of the time but it is occasionally hard to start. The neutral light does not come on and the starter will not engage, though the machine is in neutral. If you wait a minute and try again the light comes on and the starter engages. He contacted the dealer he purchased it from and they said that that happens to all Grizzlies, even brand new ones!! Is this true? Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so how do you fix it?
Any information that may help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

i have a 99 grizzly and that happened to me i took the side cover off the one that cover's the shifting linkage and discovered that the linkage was bent enough so that the handle looked like it was in neutral but the linkage was off just enough to keep it between gear's i would check this out first it happened to a couple of my friend's bike's to we had a guy build us a new linkage rod problem solved.

The linkage was bent and the dealer did a horible welding job. But we found it and he is going to replace it. But when the bike is running and the neutral light is on , if I turn on the lights the neutral light will go out and I can hear a click in the back. It sounds like it is coming from just above the back light . could this be a silinoide problem. I don't want to do to much to the bike because I think the dealer is going to fix it.

I have a 2003 Grizzly and this happens sometimes. I rock the machine a little bit forward and backwards and keep shifting until it hits the point in the transmission where the light will activate. It will then start as usual.
