I just recently installed a K&N air filter on my wifes blaster. I noticed on the air box lid that it dhas a "snorkel" that goes under the tank. It looks as if it is detatchable. If I take it off are there any horse power gains or will I hurt the motor?

If you take this off you might notice a slight power gain. I'm sure you will not hurt the motor if you keep it out of really deep mud. If you want to remove stuff to get more power just take the entire lid off. You might need to rejet when doing this but there is a noticeable power gain. I wouldnt do wither if you ride in very dusty conditions. K&N filters arent known for their great ability to keep dust out of the engine. Just ask 250rampage about the K&N dust situation. He had to replace his recons top end due to this. So if you are feeling lucky and want to squeeze every bit og power out of it then go for it!
