When Vor production team tested the first 4-5 that were the test market, they had issues with the engine overheating while at idle.
BUT, In race conditions ran fine? They had a issue with Tranny slippage while enging braking?
They had issues with Extreme nose sag while turning?

I'm not a mechanic, but, this was what he meant by issues they had.

High maintance?
1. If anything happens to the engine
replacement parts are scarce and expensive.

Upkeep is a must, With the typical honda yamaha suzuki engine, the engines are designed to last.
(( for the most part )) and take alot of abuse.

The VOR engine is designed to perform. No execptions, fluids/ filters must be changed after
6-10 hours of ride time. very minute amounts of debree in the engine could be fatal.

As I said in the above post, this is 3rd party from a guy I ride with. I just passing on what I could ask.

I was on trail with him Sunday. He said they already tested the machine against all the
(( leading markets )) and happy to report that it runs faster, pulls stonger, handles better than the modified machines they tested against.

Tis all I know, Till I ride this saturday and sunday. Yes I am trying to get in to see the actual testing or just wanna run next to it with my raptor.

I don't know about the VOR. No denying the performance and "sex appeal" is there, but I am just not too comfortable with the price. However, ATK on the other hand, would have to beat me off with a stick if they produced a little more modern version of the quad they made in the early 90's. All they would need would be to add a watercooled motor and I would sprain my arm going for my wallet.
Another option would be to build a quad around the XR650 motor. VERY fast and reliable motor. It is also lighter than the Raptor motor and the DS as well. It is easily capable of 70 horsepower without getting too extreme. Supposed to put out around 60 ponies with the Honda power up kit which consists of a piston, cam, air filter and valve springs I think. Just imagine....

I bellive that any new ** sport ** machine that
is developed will add to the appeal and actually wake up Yama, honda, suzuki to actually build quality products from the begining, rather than
us consumers spending an extra grand on parts (( SKID PLATE,
Airbox etc. )) THAT SHOULD BE ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALER AS WEAK LINKS!

ds650 A new machine in a tight market, They made a great machine and there sales now inspire new companies to do the same. The new machines force the big guys, that are stuck in a rut to climb out and match or raise the standards just for example yamaha released the raptor.

Hats of to Honda for starting the game with the 400ex. I hope and pray the continuing trend to build better machines rather than the same old.

Just my 2 1/2 cents!!
