I would like to protect my winch from water getting inside it. Does anybody have any ideal how is can be done short of not sticking it in the water.

Most if not all ATV winchs are water proof to begin with, so not much to worry about. Alot of the posters on this board routinely submerge their winches in water for extended amounts of times and ive yet to see a post indicating and damage to thier winches from water.

Get a Rule winch...other than that, there's really not much one can do to waterproof except for adding marine grease at all places water might seep in.

I have had a Superwinch and a Warn and both have done fine underwater. Never had any problems out of either one.

Same here. My Superwinch has never had any problem with water and that includes freezing in the winter so water infiltration isn't an issue with them.

Thanks for the info. I feel better about taking it out for a dunk.
