Hey People,

I loaded up my atv lastnight and left the key turned on. Tonight I noticed the battery is totally dead. I can get it started by pull starting it, so I'm wondering if it will recharge itself while I'm riding it?

Thanks for any info you can pass my way.

I believe it will if all the cells are still okay. If not you can still pull start it.

Well - I did the same thing with mine ... with my new Wolverine and it did not recharge itself after riding it. So I took the battery out and tried to give it a charge with a recharger ... no go.

I will be taking mine back to Yamaha for a warranty replacement :-(

I pretty sure your battery is dead. I would check with the dealer also and see what he would do for you.

You should try to put a battery charger on it first, but let it charge for 4-6 hours. Notice if the charger is showing any signs of charging. (like if the gauge is moved off of 0) If it does then it will probably charge back up (it might take a long time.) If not, check your leads and make shure they are making good conduct. If it still doesn't show any signs of life then it is probably toast. If you guys can get a dealer to replace the battery because you run it dead, then the first time you have a flat tire you should make them replace it also. I'd say your chances of them replacing it are slim to none. (normal wear item just like tires!) A battery should be able to take going dead a couple of times, and then charge back up, just don't make a habbit of it.

I didn't want to take any chances so I just ran it in to my dealer on thursday and he charged it up for me. It worked great all weekend. My buddy left his key on one night while we were camping so he had to pull start it in the mourning, by the time we made our first stop it was working fine.
