Yeah I agree with brokemybanshee, people give blasters very little credit. People need to stop putting down other peoples quads just so they can feel like they have the fastest quad and they are the best. Quit talking and be happy with your 4 wheeler and ride it. If you arent the fastest, oh well, if you are, dont get cocky about it. Like brokemybanshee said and probably like somebody else has said, blasters are very quick and can turn into beasts when modified. Blasters deserve to get credit for what they are and people need to stop raging on them because they just might stomp you someday and there you will be.

im buying a 95 scrambler with some mods, and realator at's on the back,
i think blasters are OK but crap compared to other quads, i know a few people thast have gotten seriously injured or crippled on the blaster because of its tippyness

Bansheeboy I wasnt addressing that to you or anybody else that has put in good thoughts to this thread. I was just saying it as a general statement. Sorry it came off that way. Later

Kukerdan~

Save your money. I would not reccomend(spelling?) buying a 95 scrambler. Just like every other machine Polaris has come out with, it takes them a couple years to work the bugs out. The 95 Scramblers were nothing but trouble and in my opinion nothing you'd want to buy. My 96 Scrambler has had it's share of problems, and it is a 2nd year model! Either buy a newer Scrambler, or find a different machine. It would be very wise as I am assuming you worked damn hard to earn your money!

brokemybanshee~
I respect your opinion and really do enjoy debating(I prefer to call it that instead of argueing). If you throw a pipe and reeds on a Blaster and Scrambler, there is no way the Blaster would win! The Scrambler would be making twice the hp(roughly 45hp vs 23hp) and automatic clutches are deadly quick when tuned properly. I have spent some decent time on a stock Blaster, but have never ridden a piped Blaster. The stocker was fun...I will never leave that 2 stroke hit! I believe you that it's 80% rider, 20% machine, but there's only so much a rider can make up from the machine. That's just natural Physics that can not be changed. I'm sure I would love to own a blaster if I was shorter(6'1). The Scrambler is just more comfortable for me and that's why I chose it.
PS-one thing I think is pretty stupid is challenging somebody to a race that live 1000+ miles away! Remember...debating, not argueing.

What have you done to your Banshee to make it so lightning quick? Just curious. It better be in excess of 400cc's and running alcohol to beat ANY Polaris!

Alright... Now I really think you dont know what you are talking about.. Automatics are good, they accelerate quick, you dont have to shift, but they also loose UP TO 30% horsepower with the belt.

NO STOCK POLARIS ANYTHING will beat a stock banshee, you my friend need to go to the stealership and actually RIDE a banshee, then you come back here and try to tell me that polaris's are faster with a strait face.. I think you have it mixed up? "It better be in excess of 400cc's and running alcohol to beat ANY banshee!" I think thats what you ment to say??! You want to talk about a 2stroke hit, try a shee..

Dirt brought up a good point "Do you think a dump truck could beat a honda crx? By most of you theories, a dump truck would win because it is bigger and has more power." That is what you are trying to say, the polaris is bigger and has more power, but it just does not work like that.

It doesn't matter what's bigger or has more power. It all comes down to a power-to-weight ratio. When you go to a drag strip or stock car races, thats all you hear. Who cares if your making 700hp if you have to haul around 3900lbs?

I lose to my friends blaster in drag races only. I can beat him going all the way around the trac though. It also takes landings a lot better. But u got to give the blaster a lot of credit considering it's price.

I'm not dissing Blasters or anything.. But, the one I rode must've been worn out. I got straight off my Banshee, onto the Blaster, and I couldn't believe it! I read all these posts about how much fun the blaster is, and ride with Blasters.. and they're wheelying all over the place! The one I rode, wouldn't pull a wheelie if you picked the front end up and walked with it! I really hope that all Blasters aren't this underpowered, because.. I lugged this thing around, stalled it a couple times.. and got back on my Banshee.. Did the same thing, and I was throwing dirt from the tires.. BY NO MEANS AM I DISSING THE BLASTER! I'm just saying, if all of them are like the one I rode, there is no way it could beat a Scrambler, 400EX, Banshee.. or any other "sport" quad out there. Also, I have gotten the better of a couple Blasters on a 300EX.. But just because of a short starting line, and better low end. Later!!

Okay, these are my opinions FROM EXPERIENCE. First off I have owned a Blaster (a 1993 Purple and White). I would recommend it to anyone starting out on a machine with a clutch, or to anyone that wants a little machine to fly through the trails on, or that just want something cheap that they can through around. When I owned it I rode with a 1992 Banshee and a 1980 something Quadracer LT250 (which he then sold and bought a 1988 Banshee). Yes, I had lined it up with both of those guys, and it was no competition. They would smoke me every time. The Blaster held on for the first gear or so, but after that it was embarassing. I was happy with the little Blaster while I owned it, and it gave me no trouble. I just needed something with a little more power so I sold it and bought a CR125.

After I got sick of Dirtbikes I sold that thing and used the money for a down payment on another car. A couple of years went by and I couldn't stand not having a quad any more so I started looking for a used Banshee. A few weeks went by and I didn't see any in the paper. I talked to a friend and ended up buying his 1998 Polaris Sport 400 (same thing as the 2x4 scrambler). The ONLY reason that I bought it was cause it was cheap. It took some getting used to but I really started liking it.

Now here is what I know...I raced my friend with the Banshee (he then had a 1998) the second day I had my Polaris. Off the line I got him buy about 2-3 quad lenghts after the first 200ft or so (maybe a little more), then he passed me once we started getting to higher speeds. I was stock and he only had a K&N air filter.

I then added my Pipes and clutch kit to the Polaris. He then had bought a 2001 Banshee. We lined them up again and I spanked him pretty good on take-off. Got him by probably 4 quad lengths at about 250-300ft, but then when I topped out he went by me.

Now I know that nobody that doesn't own a Polaris will believe that story. It's the truth though. The next post will say "The guy on the Banshee can't drive". He's on his third Banshee and has been riding them for over 8 years (nothing but Banshee's). I know that it is still possible that he is doing something wrong, but it's not likely.

So in other words, if somebody said a stock Blaster could beat a Scrambler 400 then they are on crack.

Also I want to point out that I am not dissing the Banshee in any way. Just stating the facts that I have seen.
