I talked to my dealer today, I live in Northern CA., he said that they haven't had any problems with the trannies up here at all. He said that he's heard that the problem's mainly on the east coast. Because the first shipment of Raptors were shipped there first. He said the only problem he's been having is the carbs blowing off. If you've had problems with your tranny, post the town and state and approximate date you received your Raptor. Just curious.

Alright I'm a little more East.I have had the carbs blow off, only after putting a slip-on exhaust . and have never had any tranny probs other than a few misshifts more than likely caused by operator error.bought in mid december 2000 with a sn# in the 8000's. Anyone else????

It is a known problem is SA. Although my Raptor was one of the first shipped I haven't had any hassles. The dealer said that the problem is exacerbated by "power" shifting from first to second at high revs. It seems to affect some bikes and not others.
