Pismo Bound: Should we take the New Grizzly?
#1
I think we found a pretty good place to stay. In Oceana, the Pacific Plaza Resort Hotel/Condo. It is supposed to be right where the vehicle access to the beach starts. $85-$159/night.
But the big question, Should We take the new Grizzly? or leave it home? Are Utilities, even powerful 4x4's any good/fun in the Dunes? I have never ridden in the dunes or on the beach, just lots of sandwashes. We are taking the DS-650 and Raptor for sure.
But, This would be a nice chance to get wifey to ride, and father-in-law also. Neither is going to "go for it", and with one other friend of ours going it would be something for him to ride too.
You can rent a 400EX for 2 hours for a little over a hundred bucks, or a 250 EX for $85, But is that going to work for wife or dad-in-law?
If the Honda 90 is here by then we'll throw it on the trailer too.
Lets see, trailer weighs about 1,000 lbs, + 460 for DS + 400 for Raptor + 600 for Grizz + 230 for Honda = 2,690 lbs. Towing capacity on the Pathfinder is 3,500. Better not use overdrive.

Pismo does not have huge sand hills like Glamis so I think the new Grizz will do just fine.I am fairly sure you will never need to put it in 4by4.Lower the air pressure in your tires and have fun, just remember there are future Grizz owners waiting for you to give us a full run down on how it performs.

The heel guards are 2to3 weeks away for sure.Since I bought Diamond racing things are turning around, just not as quickly as I thought. The a-arms are ready now as well as swing arms and a steering stem with anti vibration mounts and optional dual headlights. Please help spread the word.
