Nice work Arlan!! Nice rig too. Great set-up. I keep trying to figure that one out, and as I always seem to do things the hard way.
But You Have Inspired ME!!
SO,, I have a new trailer under construction, we started today, and plan on using it in just two weeks so we can take the new Grizz, DS and Raptor to Pismo. Our new 6x14 is replacing the great "Big Tex" 5x12 tandem that has been a really great trailer, but only holds two quads and could be lighter.
I figure the new trailer with these three quads weighs the same as two Polarises on the Big Tex. Kind of like getting the Raptor there for free. It was a kit, sold locally, with no
floor or tires/wheels for $700.
Used tires and diamond mesh floor, plus paint and welding supplies will finish it for $1,000. Weight (and easy towability) are my primary concerns, I'm pulling with a 3,500 towing weight 240 hp Nissan Pathfinder. I'm figuring 800 lb trailer, 460 + 400 + 600. Big load, but not heavy..(I was able to turn the entire chassis over by hand, by myself. That's the main frame, tongue, hitch, and brackets, It is mostly thin wall, 14
gauge, 2"x4" rectangular steel tubing.
It's coming along nicely, I have a great Millermatic 250 MIG welder, makes me look pretty good, at the end of the first day it's a
rolling chassis, hitch, axles,
and tires on it. We'll
finish the rails and deck tomorrow. Still no digital camera, and vacation is coming up... Perhaps 3TV will
take pictures of it when I visit him later this month and post them...I love it when he does that....

Hey fourlix,
Hollister hills State OHV area is about 1.5 hours north of Pismo. I have never been there (probably hot weather right now) but if you go up there on your trip, let us know how it is.
have a good trip to pismo. bring your surf casting gear!

YoO HOO, My trailer is done and ROAD TESTED to 95mph with all three
quads!! (6'x14'Tandem-Kit) No sway, no BS, just a good towing trailer. Simple, light, NO GATES!! I lowered the side rails to just 6" so quads can drive over the side with the 5' ramps. No gates means structural integrity and no rattles or mechanisms. Just a nice pair of ramps to go with the trailer. Painted "Brittany Blue", lights, jack, ramps, steel mesh floor, used tires and wheels, 3 days work and a $thousand bucks. I ordered an aluminum tongue box from Northern for Helmets, straps etc. So much for keeping it under a grand. It is finished except for the fenders which have not yet arrived. I will use the opportunity to touch up the paint on all those spots I missed this first time. 95MPH!! This dog can hunt, this trailer is going to PISMO!! and UTAH!!
