Hey all! Im thinking about goin to my local track! Its mainly suited for dirtbikes but i have seen some quads up there! I just got my 300 ex and I wonder if it can jump the jumps! I dont want a slow quad puttin around but enough power to jump the doubles and tabletops! Can it hang with 80's? if you dont know dirtbikes dont be fooled by the cc number! They have a strong powerband! I used to own one until i got my quad!!! (much more fun!!!)

Nope.
You'll have fun the same.
My shee is already "on the edge"...a better shifting would make things easy, but when you have to gain speed to clear the jumps...it sucks to miss a gear and do a lame 1 foot low jump.
Your 300EX will NEVER be able to keep up with 80cc...on a track, a banshee stands no chance vs a 125...(if riders are similar)

Ive seen lots of people jump doubles with 300ex's, but all those are with suspension upgrades front and rear. and then most of those have a-arm upgrades and some engine upgrades too.
I'm fairly sure you can do a tabletop-give it a go, it's safer anyways.

Zorro- Me and my buddy make about the some lap times. He has a 97 YZ125 and i have a 96 Blaster. We are at about the same skill level and is at the same age.
the 300EX suspention should be fine if you land on the landing pad. The downhill should help soak up some of the hardness.

Hey man.. I have a friend that used to have a 300EX, and he sold it for a CR125. Just like Blaster96 said, it all depends on the riders! If the bike rider is a beginner.. and you have a little more seat time, you SHOULD beat him. Someone else said that you have to have "suspension, a arm, and motor upgrades".. That is false. My friends EX had stock shocks on it, and he got 3rd place in every race he ran, and that was COMPLETELY stock. Also, the guy was running against a FULLY modified 330RX(330X motor in a SWEET 250R frame) Zorro, I have stayed with a CR125 on a track before.. The same guy that had the 300EX. He races in amateur 125, and I race Open Amateur. On the same track, I stayed right with him. I think I might could've gotten ahead, but it was my 4th race, and his 2nd. With a little time in the saddle, and alot of confidence, you will get there!
