Don't get all hissy pissy yet...

I just wanted to remind everyone of the deceiving results of drag racing and to take every account of drag racing with a large grain of salt. Here is a BIG example for you:

I was riding at a nearby gravel pit last week with a bunch of people and a guy on a 2000 or 2001 Banshee came by. The Banshee had Pro-Circuit pipes and a K&N filter (also didn't have stock tires but the guy never stopped moving long enough for me to notice what they were). Well two of the guys I was with, one on a stock Blaster and one on a stock Warrior wanted to race him. Well they did and in about a 100 yard drag race they both were about 1 length ahead of the Banshee. Now I know this is totally because the race was on very loose gravel where the Banshee got zero traction, but to the untrained eye this could lead to believing that Banshee's aren't that fast. Throw that Banshee and the other two on pavement and I think we all know the results. So I just wanted to remind everyone of that as they are reading through the forum and see alot of posts about drag races.

 

You are absolutely right 600r01 that is why we always grag race on pavement here,we have a strip of about 1/2 mile of pavement road here in the dunes we ride.Everyone drags their bikes on it,it takes a little practice at first but after a while you get used to it.When we drag we want to know wich one is the fastest not wich bike gets better grip in whatever conditions,as we all know you could beat a F1 with evry quad produced in low traction conditions, so would you say that a Blaster "i dont have anything vs a Blaster just the first quad that came up my mind"
is faster than a F1 i dont think so.We also drag on sand or dirt but it is just for fun,anyway we always drag for fun, we tease each others it is just part of the game.As long as your having fun who cares who wins or loses,at the end of the day we all have a good cold beer together.
