hey mr.! you took the words right out of my mouth. im tired of sucky yammies and (gulp) 2 strokes., although ive never had a 250r so im not too familiar with their reliability. My brother has had alot of honda atvs/motorcycles and never had a breaakdown. the main reason i want a 400ex/scrambler is cuz the banshee is too wide to go on most of the trails i ride on and the darn power band is either too powerful or not enough cuz you gotta go in a pretty low gear to go through them.400exs are awesome the way they handle...my banshee feels like a boat...ive never rode a scrambler but i am guessing the 4 wheel drive/reverse will be nice. well that pretty much sums it up.

ps: little man?ha i can bench over 95 kilos! lol take it easy man! RIDE HONDA

ANYWAY, get a Pro-Design Cool-Head. They help alot, or so I'm told.

I have the trinity stage IV head on my Shee and it has never overheated, but if your Shee aint jetted right "too big on the main"it will foul plugs i have never fouled a plug either but my bike is jetted correctly. If you are too small on the main it will overheat, now if you own a modded Shee like you say you do,you should know all these things. That is the reason why i dont beleive you own one.

I'm not getting involved in the petty arguing going on in the thread, but I will answer the banhsee over heat question.

90% of the time the water pump gear is fubared!

If you take the clutch cover off, the water pump sits in it. The white gear towards the front of the cover sheers, it's plastic and the pin that holds it in place is metal, the plastic just gives out after time. I had this happen on my 98 2 times between 98 and the start of riding this year.

The gear is like $7, so buy 2, you'll be replacing it again.

Brad

sure it is actually boiling out the overflows? usually it boils back into the resovoir when it overheats, but because of the crappy routing of the lines a lot of times when you go up an incline/jump/wheelie you can get coolant trapped in the lines and when it goes back to level it comes out of the overflow(spits it all over your pipes). You have all those mods, never been beat, blah blah and you dont know how to rejet? I think you do need to get a 4 stroke, hehe, that is probably the root of your problems, its not your spark plugs. Ive ran NGK for years and never fouled a plug even if I idle around a lot. You say your clutch gets hot? How do you know? ever adjusted it?

He says "never been beaten" but if you look at his signature i dont see any significant mods that would make his Banshee a fast one.Since when does putting a hot rod crank and boring your cylinders over twice because .40 is the second oversize if i am not mistaken makes your Banshee a special one.The fact that he doesnt even know the slightest thing about jetting "it fouls plugs constantly,i am going to get a bosche platinum plug asap" really makes me beleive that he is just a kid fooling around here.

I just recently installed a Pro-Design impeller, inline cooler, and a ez drain cover on my stock '99 SHEE. Well the cover doesn't do anything but it makes it easier to drain you coolant. Anyways, I have noticed performance gains by using the new impeller and the inline cooler. Before the mods, after riding my SHEE hard you could smell the fluid burning on the pipe. Since I installed these mods I haven't had this happen yet. The other advantage to the new impeller is that its made out of alluminum instead of plastic, I heard the plastic ones can fail over time, I bought the PD more for the reliability, but also for the performance increase.
