A Used Blaster. Is It Any Good????????????

Blasters aren't mud machines. Sure they can go through a foot or so of the wet kid, but try to steer clear of the sticky stuff. On trails they are excellent. The light wieght and 2-stroke power allow you to kick it around and slide it at will. Skid plates aren't necessary but will help. Tires would help in the mud, but its a small 2 wheel drive 2-stroke. None of these characteristics are known for muddin'. Good Luck

I have had the best luck with blasters in mud and on tight trails. First the wheelbase is so narrow and short that there very nimble and easy to weave around trees on tight trails. The power seems to be jsut right fortight stuff. The blaster I ride in the mud has a set of big old mud tires on it bought from the local tractor supply store. The tires jsut pull a stock light blaster through mud without any problems. Then if you do get stuck jsut jump off and lift the back end up onto some solid ground. They only weigh around 300 pounds. The best part I like best is clean up time. I usually jump in the river or pond and drag the blaster with me. The dumb things float very good! they'll sit with the water about halfway up the wheels. Then you can splash it to wash the mud off. All around there a tough little quad. I once trail rided one once for a weekend. About 120 miles worth, the suspension just plane sucked. But for futzing around on there great.

I am not sure how they are in the rocks, I've never ridden in rocks. Before you get a blaster, I'd find one to take for a test ride. The suspention has alot to be desired. Me and a couple of my friends have blasters. There like our beater quads. they've been through everything. I once tried to hydroplane a pond on mine. I hit the water in 4th gear and flipped end over end. The blaster was drug to shore. The plug was removed and lots of water was pumped from the engine after that it fired right up. They take a liken and keep on ticken.

I don't either but I know of people who do. They run 22 inch bandit rears. The work great on dry packes stuff, but the suck in the mud. Skidpltes are a must if you are going to ride in rocky areas.
Suspension isn't that great, but if you look on ebay you can get banshee or LT250R front shocks and a 250r or lt250r rear. This setup works great.
