Have Any Of You Ever Run Holeshots In Sand??
#2
i saw at couple of the local racers on their built 400EX's and they were all getting stuck up the sand hills that my friends almost stock EX coulb climb with the stock tires. for sand i would suggest realters or 21in or lower fast trekkers.

They do pretty good actually. We don't have "dunes" down here, but there is a place by the red river called muenster, and my Holeshots did really well in the river sand. A friend of mine on a 400EX was getting a little better traction, and he had razors.. of course, I was on a Banshee, and he was on a 400EX..So that's not really a fair comparison.

i'm guessing river sand is kinda damn so i can imagine your right lonestar you probably can get traction in that kind of sand. but i was riding in dry sand and either these guys were getting themselvs stuck on purpose or they didn't have the kind of traction that we had on our stock tires.

Hey Guys,
I have looked at those realtors but i couldn't find a realtor front tire anywhere.Am i not looking hard enough or do they not make one?If they don't would holeshot fronts be good with the realtor rears?

We're thinking about putting the 22"x11"x9" XCT holeshots on the Raptor. We already have them on the DS, and they are fantastic. Flipping the linkage would compensate for the taller tire, but we'd gain ground clearance, which it sorely needs. The taller DS with the XCT's is a lot easier to keep off the rocks. The Armadillo skid is getting beat on pretty good, and the DS still has its' plastic skid guards in good condition. The DS did great at Pismo, climbed everything, handled great. The Raptor did fine with its stock radial Dunlops too.

Hey, I don't guess these are going on your scram are they? Because if they are, you had better keep it in 2wd all the time! It could severely mess up your drive system if you alter the tire size. No, they do not make realters for the front. If you are going for a good 4x4 dune tire, I would give the GBC dirt devils a look. Sure, they're made for mud/trails, but they would provide good traction, plus you can get the sizes for the front too. Also, they would be heavy, but.. you're not going to get major air on a 4x4 either
