VERY SICK BLASTER! HELP HELP!
#1
Ok... Ive been running my blaster pretty hard the past month or so ( the bike is a year old this month ) and i had noticed it was running a little rich , i knew it was b/c when we jetted for my new pipe i had to go one size larger b/c thats all the shop had, anyhow so the bike sits up for around 2 weeks, sunday i go out to crank it up and it cranks right up and sits down into an idle, no problem so far, i let it warm up and decide to ride it around the yard, well i make it about 15 feet and when i go to open it up, it stutters real bad, then starts to die, if you press the throttle in past half way it just dies, you can release throttle to about 3/8 and it will rev up real high and the rev down to normal speed, as soon as you start to take off, it loses power almost immediately. so i figure hey its a bad plug or something, well they finally get the right jet in for my bike ( 270 ) and i go to work on it yesterday, put the main jet in and adjust the needle ( it was runnin rich in the mid also ) and put in a brand new NGK plug, crank it up and wham its running great, so i run it around the yard for about 5 min and kill it. about 15 min later i crank it up and guess what, back to the same ol crap, just wont run. its really weird tho, whenever you first crank it up it runs ok, but the first time u give it WOT it goes into its psychotic mood.... ANY IDEAS GUYS?

I think i may have figured it out..... My fuel line from the petcock to the carb was dry-rotted, well my friend had a small piece of line to use and i think it is too small. Could this be the problem??? I wont be able to try until later on this week.

hey razor, I'm not sure about your blaster, but, I have had my experiences w/the injected fuel lines. On my 96 Polaris, I ran it out of gas, and let it sit for a while.. Well, I got on it one day to pack a new triple I built, and it wouldn't climb the face of the jump, and it sputtered out and died. Also, It would die over 1/2 throttle. I pulled it back to the house w/the tractor, and the next day I worked on it
1) New spark plug probably fixed it.
2) New fuel filter... Take your old one out, and then to a parts store. Get the closest match to it, take them home, put them on... Hopefully this will fix your problems!
