munster,
I don't know how many miles I have been because I use the hour method. This is aprox.= 31 hrs equates to 4.25 to 4.50 tanks of fuel. I consider a tank of fuel as hitting the reserve tube that you can see when you look inside the tank at an odd angle. All I can is if you use the whole tank in one day you have done a lot of riding. Oh yeah...the rest of the question.
Handling is awesome if you can get your tail off the seat and work with the machine.
Comfy....very nice on long trail rides....on mag said the Raptor is like a Cadillac with the powerful northstar system...I agree.
Water and mud are no problem as long as you don't expect to go muddin' with the 4X4 guys.
Another thing, the Raptor is geared high and extremely slow riding (4X4 rock crawling stuff) is no fun. So buy one and ride it as it's intended to be rode. Hope this helps. Ride hard...ride safe.

I agree with garyc660r. If I wanted to just poke around and have a little fun I should have purchased a black/white Yamaha Breeze. I like how the Raptor has power. I would want the 454 in my 74 corvette not the 350 if I could get one.

I have gone 80 miles without hitting reserve, but a lot of that was riding fire roads. I rode with a guy this weekend who says he hits reserve at about 80 miles of real woods riding. (he has a 5 gallon IMS tank on his Raptor now).
Good luck,
Lorrin
