Worn sprockets will accelerate your chain wear. No sense buying a new expensive chain only to have your old worn out sprocket ruin it. Don't go cheap on your chain. Get a name brand O or x ring chain. I went through 2 non o-ring chains this summer already from dune riding. I just bought new sprockets from Rocky Mountain ATV $7 for front and $14 for rear. They are made by Primary Drive and seem OK so far but I have only 22 miles so far on them. Price is right.
The front sprocket will wear faster than the rear naturally.

I have never replace a sprocket when installing a new chain unless it's broken. Inspect your front and rear sprocket while your chain is off. If their isn't any damage to them, then only replace your chain. Why spend the extra $100 on something that doesn't need replaced.
