I own a 1997 stock Warrior. I seem to have a problem with my top end. It wants to quit when ever i reach the top end in 5th and 6th. If I let off the throttle it will just come to a stop, and die. But if i pull the clutch in it will continue to run, when i let off. This problem doesn't occur all the time. Sometimes it will happen constantly through 10 minutes, and then not again for a while. Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem. Another thing i noticed was, if i don't go riding for a while the problem doesn't seem to occur until the late in the ride, or not even until the next day. Any ideas ??

my first guess if its not getting enough air ?
check the filter and the passage way to the carb.

I checked all that and it is all clean. I read an article in the new dirt wheels, and there was a 1990 with the exact same problem. They said it was either a dirty carb, or the grounding of the reverse switch. I do not understand why the reverse switch would cause the ignition to stop. Any ideas ??

could it be your stator breaking down under a load(when it gets hot)? Maybe it's a fuel starvation problem, install a clear plastic fuel filter.

I had a problem sorta like that and someone gave me the tip to check the reverse switch and I found my wire was loose. I fixed and replaced spark plug and have not had problem since. I also would like to know how that siwtch has any effect on it running but I couldn't get an explanation. Give it a look.
