In actuality it could of been just white ones. Some manufacturers run only one color at a time. They'll do Green for a week then Red, Then blue or whatever. Auto manufacturers do it, Honda does it with their ATV's. Why not Yamaha?

Minehunter is right about the making of a particular color combo on the assembly line. I am firmly convinced that my Black/White 01 Raptor is going to self implode someday when I am riding it and I will be in the twilight zone of problematic Raptors that are screaming for a Yamaha service technican. I called Yamaha and they told me that
ALL 2001 raptors were going to be recalled
and you could turn them in where you got it
and they would replace them with the 2002
YAMAHA RAPTOR 80 hope this helps

Believe 75% of what you see...
50% of what you hear..

Personally, I'm getting out my waders..

I always go by the "believe half of what you see and none of what you hear" saying. Its never failed me, lol.

I don't know what you read or heard but I own a B/W raptor and there aint nuthin wrong with it. Smell?? I smell B.S. from your area guy. I think you should be recalled for your mind. Guess what if ya have a raptor and the tranny is gearing to high fix it and stop acting like a bunch of women screaming for a recall. I have had my Raptor for over 5 months and I have rode it from dunes to the woods to the mountains and it was solid. My thought is if you have a problem with it don't ride it.
