Hi people!
I have a 97 Warrior---I'm trying to get the front sprocket off in order to put a new sprocket on. I need to know---how do you loosen the bolt on the sprocket? Do you have to hold the old sprocket? When you hold the bolt the whole shaft turns. Is it clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Thanks!!!

Bob, I'm assuming that you have bent the flats of the lock washer back away from the flats on the nut. if so, the nut shouldn't be that tight unless there is corrosion. With wheels on the ground, place the machine in 1st gear, lock the parking brake,(I removed mine) or apply the foot brake & zip tie it down to the frame. This takes the strain off the tranny when you wrench the nut loose. In replacing the c/s sprocket, the specs only call for 54 ft. lbs. of torque. Don't forget to bend the flats of the washer back onto the flats of the nut. The nut has a common right hand thread, meaning that it is loosened by turning counter clockwise.
Of course, if you're going to a larger gear you'll have to loosen the adjustment on the chain in order to get it on..just a reminder
