I need to know this cuz I just got a real good price on a 01 6175otd and I can take it back and pay more for a 02. I am undecided cuz If I keep the 01 I feel I have to get the extended warranty or get a 02. Help

Late 2001 Raptors are fine.
But 2002 have better gear spacing,1-2-3
Improved, but still too narrow axle and piggyback instead of rezzie rear shock are non-issues.

I was thinking a late fixed tranny would be considered like 15,000+. I guess thats wishful thinking. Chet

I have talked to 3 different dealers within 1/2 hour of me and NOT ONE of them knew anything about tranny problems or updates. They all gave me the same line "We're the last to know these things"! I find this hard to believe. I remember seeing some posts about this a couple months ago and they were saying that it was VIN # 16000 and after. Is this the last few digits of the VIN or towards the beginning? I have been thinking about a Raptor cause I'm tired of waiting for the others to release their sport machines. But also because I like the Raptors and Yamaha's performance history.
