Depends on what eshaust your going to use! I'd go with a TC racing slip on or a WB e-series or big gun. TC by far produces the best results and I've rode them all. It definatly helps with the gap between 1st and 2nd and filter is not necessary. You do not need a full exhaust just slip on unless you plan on tearing into your motor for a big bore and etc... Stock head pipe gives the raptor more low end tourqe than an aftermarket head pipe. So just get one of these 3 slip on's and you'll notice a diff exp with TC racing shorty silencer, its $$ but well worth it and it is well protected so if you flip or someone rear ends you you dont have to worry about it smashing and no disc to deal with like WB and it doesnt hang out the back of the quad like the big gun and WB. Check out Doug Gusts Suzuki quad that TC built for him it looks the same as his exhaust. Any of these exhaust will help get rid of the gap between 1st and 2nd.
