Twist Throttle Conversion for 2000 Warrior
#1
Here's Motion Pro's e-mail add.Ask them for the info you need: mpinfo@motionpro.com
I had my twister installed on my 97 Warrior by the dealer when I bought it so I never saw the paper work, but as far as I know the return spring is the original one. I believe the additional one you refer to in the thumb throttle is used at the behest of OSHA, our wonderful big brother in Wash who looks after us poor incompetant idiots who can't remember to let go of the throttle to stop; the additional resistance reminds us
.
BTW, if you haven't replaced the grips before, make sure that you have cleaned off all the old adhesive with acetone. Then get you wife's hair spray, spray inside the grips as well as the bars and slip them on. They will have to dry overnight before riding. I've tried glue of several types, but this is the easiest by far & they don't slip under the hardest use! I also use safety wire on the grips as an extra precaution: most better grips have grooves (3) for that purpose.
There's no extra charge for this additional info.

Has anyone replaced the stock thumb throttle with a Motion Pro twist throttle on a 2000 Warrior? If so, please let me know what the part number is...I think the one my dealer ordered for me is the wrong one. The number
number listed in the instructions that came in the package is "Motion Pro 01-057"; the part number on the package is BA01-368 (FYI, this is for a 97 Warrior, but the dealer assumes it will work on a 2000 model).
Also, I noticed that the stock thumb throttle has an internal spring to return the throttle lever to idle, but the conversion model does not. I have to admit this is my first ATV and I've never attempted such a modification, but am I correct in doubting that the butterfly return spring in the carburetor is not strong enough to snap the throttle back? Please advise...

Actually yes, the butterfly return spring is indeed stong enough to return the throttle to its correct position. I have a Motion Pro twist Throttle on my Suzuki LT 250 R. It works good, but Id still rather have the thumb throttle.
Good Luck. oh yea, Mine was easy to install.
