The warrior is faster in a drag race, but the handling is no where near the same. The 300ex is one of the best handling quads ever made, thats why it always wins shootouts. Its not real fast, nor real powerful, but it handles like a dream. It's also lighter. If you want top end speed, go with the warrior, if you want the best handling trail bike out there, get the Ex. If you want to maybe MX race, I would also suggest the EX as its lighter and seems to have more mods readily available.

Just my opinions, I know its a yamaha forum and all, but he asked for honest opinons.

I have ridden both and the only thing I liked better about the 300EX was its jumping ability. It seems to handle the landing better than the Warrior because of its shocks. It's also a little lighter which makes it easier to handle in the air. As far as tight trails I just don't see where it had enough advantage to speak of. I believe its all the rider, if you now how to throw your quad around corners and over logs the only difference will be the Warriors power. I would take my Warrior in the woods over a 300EX every time. If I was looking to get some big air then the 300EX would be more forgiving. If you know how to handle the quad before and during the jump and can hit the landing back tires just before front tires then the Warrior will handle 4' air without any problems. (with about 180 lbs on the quad) Any more air will require better shocks to not bottom out but if your really into quads you will probably replace the shocks somewhere along the line anyway!

I think the better package in stock form is the 300EX. It is not as fast on the top end as the warrior but the 300ex's suspenders just work better. Former 300EX owner and a nephew that has a 2000 warrior. Chet

I am speaking from a Warrior owners stand point and I agree with 2001 ATV. I would take my Warrior over a 300EX anyday. Even though the 300EX handles a little better if the right rider is on the Warrior you can do just as good sling the Warrior around. I have a 99 Warrior and I still enjoy it more than any quad I have ridden. No I haven't ridden a Raptor or Banshee but we are not talking about them here. The Warrior is a great machine and can take a lot of punishment and still run great. Go with the Warrior.
