Warrior Parking Brake Rev Limiter
#1
I've been having engine problems while riding that I believe is being caused by the parking brake, has anyone modified their parking brake so the engine isn't limited to 2300 rpm when the brake is set?
I noticed there is a small block inside of the clutch lever housing that pushes the switch in for normal riding, and retracts when you set the parking brake releasing the switch limiting the rpm to 2300. Removing the switch doesn't work...it has to be "in" for normal operation. According to my shop manual...which only includes up to 1995 models...it shows that a green/white wire connects to ground--the only problem is that I don't know if the green/white wire is grounded for normal riding, or when the parking brake is set. If anyone has removed this lovely feature, please let know.

2000Warrior350,
The best modification you can do with the parking brake lever is to take it off & dump it in the trash. It's unnecessary, and that knife edged blade is an accident waiting to happen. I have the scar on my forearm to prove it. I took a particularly hard hit on a 10" deep rain rut & nearly went over the bars.Somehow my forearm hit that brake lock lever & put a nice 2" gash in it. Needless to say I went back to my truck & removed it; not my arm, the lever.BTW, that took care of the rev limiter also.
