Has anyone tried the carbon fiber wheels from Hyper-Technology?
I just ride on the desert and my wheels really get beaten up.They say it's better than the aluminum but I have my doubts. Any comments?

I have not used them but I did read an artical in dirtwheels that was talking about how Travis Spader tested them they said he broke axles but not the rims.

Turns out he didn't break the axles either. There was a retraction statement in the next issue of the magazine.

Being an X downhill MTB racer ..i have seen lots of bikes come down the mountain in pieces. Most of them Carbon fiber or thermoplastic material. Carbon fiber is pretty trick stuff don't get me wrong and there are some parts that you can get away with being "light" and "trick". But when it come s to wheels, i will stick to good ole Aluminum make that Beadlocked aluminum. Yeah they get bent and evrything but when i am tired of them..they are cheap enough to replace. Carbon fiber gets weak and it starts to strand..then it looks like crap...plus..they have to be the ugliset wheels in the world too!! just my 2 cents

The wheels aren't made out of solid carbon fiber, they are a carbon fiber composite. There is some kind of rubbery stuff in them. Sounds weird but thats what I read. They are probably stronger than just carbon fiber alone.

I've seen them in Dirtwheels before and they said they were stronger than aluminum but they are expensive! If it was me i would prolly go with aluminum with beadlocks because of the price, but good luck deciding!
