I was ready to buy the silver griz when I saw a chip on the silver plastics. I told him if i will buy this that has to be fixxed. He told me that they are actually taking the entire quad off of the floor because yamaha has made a huge mistake. What they did was take black plastics and paint them with silver metallic paint. Now when someone drives through the woods it chips extremely easy. I knew the silver color was to good to be true. It seems to shiney. He told me that yamaha has advised him to tell his customers not to drive in the trails until the problem is fixxed. WHAT??? Not drive in the trails with the baddest 4X4? Anyone have the problem i would recommend contacting yamaha as soon as possible. I decided to go with the beige.

Is this for real? Or is this guy jerkin' your chain! If it's real, what can they do for us who have already bought this problem? Replace the plastic with the color of your choice? Or, we could just drive it around in our back yard. I hope this is bull$hit...

Tony (just picked up the Silver on Thursday)

the dealer told me that yamaha stands by its product and that the problem will be fixxed, but it may take 6 months to a year. He told me that a few years ago another yamaha quad had a similar problem. The color compound (for real camotree) that yamaha used in that model was making the plastics shatter like glass. to fix the problem yamaha sent green plastics to all owners of the bikes, i think they were kodiaks, but not sure. after they figured out the prolem they then sent a set of real tree camo to the owners, the customers were aloud to keep both sets. Good deal, but way to much headaches and hassle. If anyone wants to find out from the person I spoke with call 411 and get the number for Kawasaki of Ramsey in Ramsey, New Jersey and ask for Edgar. He is the one who told me about this masacre
