i have a choice of buying a new 00 Wolverine for $5700 or a 97 Wolrverine, which the dealer says has very low hours, for $4000. I am leaning towards goin with the older one. the only difference i know about is the lack a a backup starter on the 97. but the original tires on on the used one and they seem like they havent been used all that much at all. So if you can help me out id really appreciate it. thanks

Go for the 97 as long as it looks like has been well taken care of.

The 97 may have a bigger carb on it, but I'm not sure. It may have been the 96 but I do remember reading that one model had a 36mm carb while others had a 34mm. If the original tires have good tread, then its probably in great condition. Especially if you notice that the paint or the little spiny things are still on the tires. It would be worth the $1700 plus the sales tax to get the 97.

Get the 97, Then look for some Aftermarket suspension, Motor and Exaust mods.

See if you can haggle the dealer down a little on the 97's price.

Good luck
Great day

Also pull the Air Filter on the 97 and check
the Intake tract, if there is a lot of dirt&
debris be Careful.

The '00 & 97 have the same carb, 34 mm Mikuni. The 95 was the last year for the 36 mm Mikuni.

I think the deal they are giving you for the 00 is a rip off. I know a dealer that will sell it for 5299$ You have to really negotiate with the dealers for even with the 5299$ they are still making a profit.

I wouldn't place too much value on a backup starter. More weight and something else for mud to destroy. I have never needed a backup with my 10 years with a Warrior and now my '97 Wolverine.

I have a 00 Wolverine. Paid $5350. Negotiate on the price or get them to throw in some extras.
