Do Kodiak heat up like the Grizzly's
#1
I currently own a Grizzly and have heat problems and considering getting rid of it and buying a Kodiak. Before I buy one I want to make sure the Kodiak doesn't have the same problem. The engine is not overheating, during periods of slow riding and stopping for short periods of time the heat builds up in the enclosed area around the carburator and then it vapor locks. Since the Kodiak also has the side covers in the same area I wondered if it would vapor lock. Being liquid cooled there probably isn't as much residual heat as the air cooled Grizzly. I would hate to make the same mistake twice.

00' Kodiaks's have liquid cooling rather than air cooling. It should not get hot. The engine is enclosed under cowling. The 2000 Kodiak has a neat clean look. It is a very nice ATV - rides and handles nimbly. My wife bought it because she loved the way it handled, and I agreed with her choice because I could use it in the 4 wheel drive mode for work around the house.
