Any Silver Grizzly Owners Out There?
#1
After weeks of deliberation I have made a decision to trade in my 2001 Arctic Cat 500 Automatic on a new Silver 660 Grizzly. I am supposed to pick it up on 10/13/01.
I originally had my mind set on the Grizzly in red and the dealer did not have one in stock and offered me the silver for the same price as the red, no $300 up charge.
I am concerned that I should have stayed with the red based on the problems I have read about the silver paint scratching off easily down to a black layer underneath. There is no way to stay on good trails all of the time. Sooner or later there will be a few scratches.
Any silver Grizzly owners out there and what do you think of the paint and how is it holding up? Any Scratches?
Please let me know and contingent upon the feedback I may hold off until my
dealer can locate a red Grizzly. I appreciate any feedback.

YEAH, IT SCRATCHES ALRIGHT...IF YOU'RE GOING TO STAY WITH THE SILVER, I RECOMMEND CLEAR-GUARD PROTECTION SYSTEM (CLEAR-GUARD.COM), JOHN HAS JUST COMPLETED A CLEAR PLASTIC LAMINATE TO PROTECT THE HIGH WEAR AREAS ON THE FENDERS. THIS RUNS $110.00...I PLAN ON ORDERING ONE FOR MYSELF.
I'VE HAD THE BIKE OUT FIVE TIMES NOW, FOUR OF THOSE TIMES IT HAD NEW SCRATCHES DOWN TO THE BLACK PLASTIC. THE SILVER LOOKES GREAT, BUT IS TOO TOUCHY FOR MY TASTE WITHOUT THE PROTECTIVE PLASTIC ON IT. I'VE HEARD A RUMOR THAT YAMAHA WILL ADDRESS THIS ISSUE DOWN THE ROAD, I'M CALLING ON MONDAY TO FIND OUT MYSELF. OTHER THEN THAT THE QUAD IS "GREAT"...I'D BUY ONE AGAIN IN A SECOND!!!
TONY (RED WOULD BE MY SECOND CHOICE)

I just went out to Penn yesterday to pick up my beige grizzly. I went to Rusty Palmer. Let me tell you they have any grizzly you want. I saw at least two or three reds there. I drove two hours to pick up my grizzly and it was 100% worth it, they set up the winch and plow for me for about 7,000, i highly recommend going to them ask for ron, great salesman. i wouldn't get the silver. It was my first choice and i figured if i am dropping that much money i don't want to be bothered by yamaha's stupid mistake on painting black plastics. The beige is bad@$$. It' got the hummer look. They red is nice too, but too honda looking. well good luck and definitely go to rustypalmer.com
