To all wolverine owners(top speed)

Have you checked your top speed for your Wolverine? According to my Etrex the top speeds for my quads are:
Stock 1999 Yamaha Wolverine 350 4x4: 46.4 mph
1986 Suzuki Quadsport 230 w/DG pipe: 49.0
1985 Honda ATC 200S: 46.1
The speed for the Wolverine seems way lower than exeryone elses, I think something must be wrong. I have drag raced a 1998 Honda 300 4x4 and can only beat it in a very long drag race by 1-2 mph. I am not sure if the 300 was stock since its front tires were popping up in 2nd gear, mine were only coming up in 1st. It's pretty embarrassing to get beatin a 100-150 yard drag race by a utility 4x4 when you are on a "sport" 4x4. Any suggestions on what could be wrong? My jetting may be a little lean since it gets hot easy. What about using the cheap gas? Any help would be appreciated.

The wolvy stock top speed is about 50mph. NEVER USE CHEAP GAS! low octane gas can cause pre-ignition (detination) and blow your piston to pieces. If you want a lot more power get a WB PM pipe. it will make all the differacne in the world.

I use it for hunting and don't want to make it too much louder than it already is. How loud is that pipe? How much? Is it a complete system or just a slip-on? Almost everyone i have talked too has said it should go 56-58 stock. In dirtwheels it jumped all over the Rancher in everything but "creature comforts" so I was expecting to easily beat even a slightly modified 300 4x4 since it was the predessessor to the Rancher. I will still take the Wolverine over a 300, it has a way better suspension, way better handling, better for trail riding, and looks way better. I do think the 300 would have the edge in deep mud or heavy towing, though.

I have a new 01 Wolverine and I checked with my GPS and had it to 45 and let off since it has only 50 mile on it. It was still pulling very hard and I can see 50 plus is really no problem at all. I think when I have it broken in well it will get to 55 pretty easily. My Sportsman 400 would do 50 and it is 200lbs heavier.
