Is the Yamaha financing company any-good? And what's wrong with insurance in case your atv gets stolen or something? Everyone puts insurance down.

Justin, Absolutely! Posotively! DO NOT USE YAMAHAS FINANCING! Do a search under "Finance". These people, from what I have read on this forum, are crooks.

Also, insurance is a good thing. ATV's cost thousands of dollars, it's crazy not to insure them.

I have used them and have not had a problem. I know several on here have had trouble, but I think it happens with any finance company. The yamaha finance company is household bank and they are known for having high interest rates. I bought my quad through them because they have a deal going where you get 3.9% until march, by march I will have it almost paid off. I planned to pay between $500-$700 monthly and it will be paid off by next summer. I did this and it was quick and easy. I think they are a little more liberal in who they lend too, you do not have to have perfect credit.

If I was planning on only paying like $100-200 per month, I would look for another source. It will take very long for you to pay off a large note at only that amount.

I don't think they are crooks, I think they are making money off the people who carry that loan for a long time. It is nice to be able to only pay a small amount when needed, but otherwise I try to pay as much as possible each month and get it paid off.

It also says right on the statement to mail it at least 10 days before it is due in order to make sure it gets to them before your due date. Maybe they are slow in processing it or something, but I have not had a problem.

I always mail my payment as soon as I get the bill.

That is my 2 cents and more.

You can get a lower rate from your local bank or credit union. The rates are so low right now you would be crazy not to use the local guys. As far as insurance, GET IT.... Can't stress that enough.

They also charge you a late fee no matter when you send payment!! This was my biggest bitch about this company. I would send my payment 2 to 21/2 weeks before due and they would still try to tell me it wasnt processed until after due date. Besides High interest rates just one more way to get money out of you. Very shady business practice in my book!!!
