I'm inclined to agree with you but will give advice just in case. Maybe he's running in low all the time.... would account for bad fuel economy and over heating.

How do you like your Jeep Yama? I put my poor baby through heck and back. lol Do you play n the mud with your girl or is she just for show?

Yama if you think it is BS you can buy this quad and see for your self,and it is not in low.

kodiak1, the number for the new style pump is 5GH-12420-00-00. I would think that this pump would be all that Yamaha had in stock. I know all the 2002 and a few 2001 has the new pump. You can be positive by checking for the clear plastic tube hanging from the bottom. I also have a picture of the new pump in my pics2 album if anyone wants to see it.

If the dealer replaces the seal Im sure it will leak again. My dealer replaced my seals the first time mine leaked. "Possible the new pump hadnt came out yet" The seals only lasted a few months. Last time, "back around April" my dealer replaced the whole pump. No problems since. I also do a lot of mud riding and water riding.
