Digital Speedometer on Blaster? (pics)
#1
I have a 2000 Blaster (stock) and have always wondered how fast it is. I was reading the latest ATV magazine that came out (can't remember which), but there was a somewhat detailed article on installing, setting up and testing of a bicycle speedometer on an ATV. I was inspired a bit so I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a PlanORam 17 function digital bicycle speedometer for $29.99. I installed it in about an hour (planned a bit and had to lengthen the cable). The first ride I was a bit surprised that it actually worked. I had it up to about 30 or so and the magnet that the sensor feeds off of took off flying. I had to get a new magnet and installed it (with a little more thought this time). It works great now. It is very accurate( compared with a GPS). So the conclusion was that my stock blaster with one sire larger tires and stock gearing could go 59.1 MPH. I was actually a bit surprised. I'm going to remove the airbox lid, rejet and see what numbers I can get now. I will post a link to my web site with some pictures tomorrow. I forgot the disk at home. Anyone have any thoughts, questions, comments?
