OK guys, I have a 2000 Big Bear 4X4, which overall is a great machine, except for the tires - the the tread is too short and too widely spaced.

I am looking for recommendations for the best all 'round tire - mud and trail riding (machine mainly used for hunting) are my biggest concerns. Nothing so agressive that they wear fast, ride too rough, hard turning, etc. while trail riding, but something more agressive than the stock wimpy tires for better performance getting through creeks and bogs. Also, who has the best prices?

Thanks for the help!

In the sept issue of ATV magazine they had a tire shootout and the Goodyear Mudrunners got rated as the best all-around tire. I have the Mudrunners on my kodiak and like them alot. I think these tires would work great for what you want. The best price i found on the Mudrunners was at Treadepot.com

Check out the Maxxis Sur-Trak's, I have a set on my Scrambler and I have been nothing but impressed with them. They don't wear fast and hook up under the most conditions.

I've been real happy with my Titan 589's. I have ridden them on just about every kind of trail, and they have performed very well. I have about 600 miles on them, and they have about as much tread as they did when I bought them.

Hi everyone!
This is my first post to ATV Connection. This is a great sight.
I have a 2000 Kodiak and I want to get new tires. My choices are either Titan 589 M/T's, or Goodyear Mud Runners. I would like go with the 26" size, but I have a few questions. I have a SuperWinch 1500, the motor sticks out the left side looking at it from the front. Does anyone have this winch and the 26" tires? Do the tires hit the motor or anything else? I also want to go with aluminum wheels. Which are better,
Douglas or ITP Magnums? I'm not a hard rider but I do a lot of riding in the snow and also plow a lot of snow. Will road salt cause any damage to the aluminum wheels?
Any info will be greatly appreciated! Thank You!!

I bought Titan 589 M/T'S, and stayed with the 25" size and kept the stock rims. This seems to work for me. I think they're great. I mostly got them for the snow, but we only had one snowfall this winter. It was about 18" of beautiful white stuff. I had no problem going in this stuff, it was great. I wish we had more snow, but you get what you get. I think the handling and ride are great also. As everyone says at low speed you do get a little bumpy ride, but hay if we ATV riders wanted a smooth ride we wouldn't be Atv riders! I would recommend these tire to anyone. As far as the size goes, I think that's your own opinion. Keep riding but safley!!
