Anyone ever had any experience with one of these? For those that aren't familar, it's a motorcycle with ATV tires, powered by a one cylinder 350cc engine. They were just made (I think) for a few years in the mid 80's. I've got one that according to other souces has a carb problem, I think one of the jets always gets clogged. Anybody have a solution to the problem, as the stock carbs have some short comings?

Thanks for you help.

Idles at a very high rpm and gas leaks from the bottom of the carb, at a fairly quick rate. According to others if you don't shut the gas off when in use the bottom jet gets clogged, does that make any sense?

sorry for the typo, should have written if you don't shut the gas off while quad is shut off then you have problems.

I've just heard that Yamaha had a lot of carb problems with these models, don't know what the solution should be.

Well, maybe the gas supposed to go in the engine overflows (instead of going in), causing a lean condition -> high idle.
The safest thing to do is remove the carb, clean it...and see if anything is wrong. From there, you'll have a new starting point (and I guess it'll be enough to have it running again)

You might also want to check how good is the air filter, and add a fuel filter. Especially if the gas tank is steel.
