I will be installing a new clutch and was wondering who is using what brands. Will the stiffer springs give it noticably harder clutch pull at the clutch lever? Also what all is involved with the 6 spring conversion and what are the advantages?

Call Alba in San Diego CA for the clutch up date. They will sell you Yamaha fibers and factory plates with Barnett Springs. The fibers that they sell are from another Yamaha and may work slightly better.

YOUR clutch pull will be about the same.

For the 6 spring, it is a new basket and plate with different fibers and plates.

It takes a YZ clutch basket and pressure plate, surface ground plates and extra fibers. You must then fit your gear on the basket. It is not easy!! Unless you are a member of the 65+hp crowd, don't go there. Just add Springs.
