The dealer tells me to ride for twenty minutes conservatively then let the quad sit for twenty. Is this true, thats it? I just want the best for my Banshee and I want it to have a long troublefree life.

Make sure you get rid of the stock air filter ASAP,It is a problem just waiting to happen.
This will help make your motor last.
As for the break in, When I broke mine in, I rode for a half hour let it cool down and then I would ride for a half hour or so, I did this 3 or 4 times then changed the oil and then started riding it normal after that and not had any problems with the motor (I've had it since 1999).

I would like to get a pro-flo intake but I'm hesitating doing so because of the rejetting thing. I don't know anything about 2 strokes let alone carburators. I have to really dig into the service manual I ordered before I feel comfortable making any mods.

You could go with the pro-desighn foam filter this should not effect your jetting, But (there is always a but)in the long run you are going end up wanting the K/N set up and you will have to re-jet for that.
Which ever one you go with it will be a great improvment over the stock set up, and will save you the cost of a rebuild.

The advise that your dealer told you is the best method. I wouldn't jet, pipe,or do ANYTHING to your bike until you run at least 4 or 5 tanks of gas through it. Sometimes, but not always, two strokes will have to be "re-tuned" after break in. If go and add alot of stuff to it it makes it harder to figure out the problem. We see this quite often when one buys a Banshee, Blaster, or a dirtbike and wants us to put a lot of performance parts on it. Alot of people don't realize the difference but it IS there. Hope this helps.
