I would like to know if can replace just the rear spring with one suited for the weight of the rider, without buying another shock.I`m having trouble setting up the rear,i ride in trails with big bumps, one right after the other and pounds my butt big time, and have adjusted the rebound and compression screws several times and backed off the spring nut almost all the way.I weigh 170 pounds.

I weigh 170 and I am still on the stock setting from the factory. Mine seems to do just fine. I run over lots of tree roots with no hard hits to the rear. Chet

At 170lbs you shouldn't have any problems dialing in your shock. You don't NEED a new one though it would be better. Keep adjusting!!!
