This is hard because i bought it at a action for 50 bucks, I know for a fact that it has a honda 200x front and back end cuz i own a 200X, The motor IS a Yamaha and i don't know if it is 2 or 4 stroke (how to tell??)I was hoping someone would know were i can find id # on motor. It's deffinately a butcher job.But id tag on steering neck says 1980 Yamaha.....Motor fits right in thou, no cuting or welding, Air cooled. Anybody know anything about eng. #'s???

The Honda frame would've been much easier to put a motorcyle motor into.
I guess it's not running if if can't tell if it's 2 or 4 stroke. Do you know if it has an injection tank?
Anyway, a four stroke motor is going to be alot bigger looking on the top because it will have a cam and vavles in the head. A 2stroke will have a very compact head.

Wait now, I just reread your poste. It's a Honda frame, and a Honda Front end, but a yamaha tag on the steeringneck. Something fishy.

Yea, I bought it at a police auction, probably stolen stuff all spliced together, anyway i want to sell the eng. Yea it looks big, like a 4 stroke, no oil inj. stuff. I just assumed yamaha was 2 stroke, but i know not ALL yama's are 2's..Maybe the Yamaha dealer can help....

A four stroke has a skinny pipe, a two stroke has a fat one.
